Well-maintained rooms with two cozy queen beds! It's a pet-friendly spot, and it's conveniently located near Slab City, Salvation Mountain, and the desert 🌵.

The hotel is in a great location for visiting the Sonny Bono Wildlife Refuge. The rates were very reasonable; the rooms were great and the whole place had a resort like feel. There is a restaurant right on the premises which was very convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful.
It was such a nice day we wished there were chairs and a small table outside the room. We took two chairs from the room ourselves and sat outside to have a glass of wine and relax.

The location was good and unbeatable, for example, Salvation Mountain was a 10-15 minute walking distance from the hotel. The rooms were beautifully maintained and recently refurbished equipped with all amenities, a sleeper sofa and a couch...

Well, I am not going to lie. The only reason we stayed there was because we couldn't find anything else between Joshua Tree np and San Diego. The drive from Joshua Tree np to Calipatria is enjoyable and offers some nice sightings, but not really worthwile. Calipatria itself is a 'small rural community' and there is not much going on. They have no decent shops, restaurants or entertainment. The rooms were clean, cheap, good for the money. However, you are in a rural community, so enjoy the smell :p Staff was ok. We booked a non-smoker room and upon entring one of the rooms, we detected a severe smoke smell. Got a switch to another room in 2 minutes without any problems.
Rural environment makes you want to stay inside.

The pet-friendly hotel is perfect. Great location in Calipatria, close to attractions in the area and southern California. - Exceptionally nice staff. - Large room with a kitchenette offered at an affordable price.

The breakfast was good. The birds in the date palms outside in the morning were lovely. The pool looked nice though we didn't use it. This really is the nicest thing within a hundred miles.
Not the fault of the hotel, but the smell of the livestock yards was overwhelming and not something we expected. But that was the only negative.

It's close to the family we went to visit.
I would of liked a real breakfast rather than a pastry.

The room was super clean and affordable, plus it had a couch and a sleeper sofa - perfect for extra guests or just lounging around. 🛋️ It also had a great location near the Sonny Bono Salton Sea wildlife refuge.

Excellent bed, very easy to find.
The breakfast could be a bit more varied.

It was certainly the very best hotel in the region, their grounds are very nice for the region, their pet policy was very convenient for us. My 7 year-old enjoyed the spa (which was warm to splash around- but not too hot for a child). The breakfast was convenient and the lobby was nice. Good value.
The room smelled bad.
